We aim to develop the sport of futsal and ensure all our players enjoy the game to the fullest.

“Futsal will always be what I enjoy most”

— Cristiano Ronaldo

About

St George Futsal started in 2004, in an age when young players were still playing on a full sized field.

This made no sense at all when the best player development professionals recommended that young players learn to play on a small field that best suited their level of development.

So we started St George Futsal. Some years later the FFA introduced Small Sided Football.

Both games are very similar. The principles behind the games are the same. Both can be great games of skill.

The speed of futsal was quicker but it is not now. The new Lite balls introduced by the Dutch and German Football Associations means that Futsal/Small Sided Football played on artificial grass can be very quick.

The choice then becomes do you want to play on a hard indoor surface, or on artificial grass.

PROFESSIONAL COACHING & EDUCATION

The key to players enjoying any interest or sport is to make learning fun. It also helps to understand how players learn and to have a deep knowledge of the game.

We pride ourselves on creating an environment where our players can learn and have fun, and solve a problem by accessing knowledge.

Andrew has a long list of qualifications & a lifetime experience of coaching players from all walks of life. He has had great success with futsal school programs, local club and elite football teams like Sydney Uni, Rockdale and Hakoah.

Qualifications include those from FFA - Junior, Youth & Senior licences, AJAX FC of Amsterdam - Coaching Principles, TOVO Barcelona, FFA - Youth and C Licence.

PROFESSIONAL ADMINISTRATION

This is art and science. Organising anything up to 1000 players per week is demanding. It requires a great deal of empathy and understanding of how families work, an ability to listen and act, and serious organisational ability.

Moya has a long list of qualifications and experience in this area. She has a Diploma of Sport Development and Administration, and has worked for organisations like Surf Life Saving Australia and Price Waterhouse.

She is also a mother of 4 adult children, including triplets! I’ll say no more about organisation and administration…

We work hard to help teams play at times that suit them, to play on time, and to make sure the experience is seamless & enjoyable.
